Opened in 2006 in Ridgeville, in a town called Pringletown, Shug’s Southern Soul Café specializes in Southern and American food. Owners Noah and Blanche Coleman named the restaurant after Shug Avery, the fictional jazz and blues singer from The Color Purple. Shug’s has since moved to Saint George and still serves up that special soul food and hospitality for which it is known. Guests can chow down on classics like shrimp and grits, collards, red rice, fried chicken, seafood, steaks, pasta, burgers, and ribs. Swing by Shug’s Southern Soul Café today for good food, family, and entertainment.
