  • 2 pounds brown sugar
  • 1 cup butter softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon cloves
  • Rum
  • Cinnamon sticks


  • In large bowl, cream together brown sugar, butter and spices. Store in airtight container in refrigerator indefinitely. To serve, stir 3 tablespoons of mixture and 1 jigger of rum into mug of boiling water. Use a cinnamon stick to stir. Garnish with whipped topping if desired. Serves 20.Note: This mixture should stay soft, but in case it should get dry, lay an apple slice on top of mixture and seal. The apple will keep it moist.
