  • 3 cups sugar plus more for peaches
  • 4 eggs beaten
  • 1 gallon milk divided
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 4 to 6 medium-size Georgia peaches peeled and halved
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk 14-ounce
  • 2 cans evaporated milk 12-ounce
  • ice
  • Rock salt


  • Combine 3 cups sugar, eggs, 4 cups milk and vanilla in a saucepan; cook over medium-high heat, stirring very frequently, until slightly thickened.
  • Remove from heat and cool.
  • While cooling, blend peaches and sugar to taste in a blender or food processor until smooth.
  • Add to cooked mixture along with condensed milk and evaporated milk.
  • Pour into a 6-quart ice cream maker and add more milk to reach fill line.
  • Freeze according to manufacturer’s directions using ice and rock salt.
