Whether you are a professional or amateur ghost hunter or a total skeptic, you are still sure to enjoy the Haunted Ghost Tours by Ken and Lisa Marks as you experience one of the most haunted towns in America.
You will enjoy a spine-tingling, guided driving tour to learn the secrets of many of Hannibal’s most notoriously haunted sites, learn about Hannibal’s rich history, and experience legends and ghost stories told and retold for more than 150 years. Hear stories of murder and mischief that took place during Mark Twain’s boyhood days in Hannibal; meet the present-day ghosts of the mansions on Millionaire’s Row; and visit other ghostly sites, including a visit to the Old Baptist Cemetery.
The highlight of the tour, you are given dousing rods to help you search for signs of paranormal activity among the graves—as old as the early 1800s—of slaves and Civil War soldiers. People have found stones with their name on them, graves of people who died the same day of the tour, or the death date of a beloved family member.
There are many stories from people who report seeing ghosts in the cemetery. Lisa, who never sees ghosts herself, says it is amazing how she hears the same “ghost story” over and over again from guests. Some of those include a five-year-old-girl playing peek-a-boo in the northwest corner of the cemetery; a man near the west fence line, very tall, dark, wearing a long overcoat; a Civil War soldier who is wearing his hat; and a man named Edward in the northeast part of the cemetery who isn’t hostile, but not particularly friendly.
