  • 3 cups sugar
  • Pinch salt
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 2/3 cup Carnation evaporated milk
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 1 cup chopped nuts optional


  • Combine ingredients in small pot over medium-high heat; cook to a rolling boil.
  • Continue to cook, stirring constantly until it thickens slightly.
  • Place candy thermometer in pot and cook until temperature reaches 238°.
  • Pour into a 9x13-inch baking dish and let set until hardened.
  • For thicker fudge use a smaller baking dish.
