Easy Butter-Dipped Breadsticks

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 2 cups self-rising flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • Salt season salt, garlic salt, and/or Creole seasoning (optional)

Instructions

  • Heat oven to 450 degrees.
  • Melt butter in large, flat baking pan with sides. (Remove pan from oven when butter is melted.)
  • Stir together flour, sugar, and milk until dough clings together.
  • Turn onto well-floured board; roll to coat with flour.
  • Knead.
  • Roll out to 1/2-inch thick rectangle.
  • Cut dough in half lengthwise (using floured knife or pizza cutter) then cut into 3/4-inch-wide strips.
  • Dip strips in melted butter then lay them in same pan with melted butter.
  • Bake 10 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Immediately after removing from oven, sprinkle with salt or garlic salt or Creole seasoning, if desired.
  • Serve hot.
