Started in 1969, Burgoo Festival is the main fundraiser for the LaSalle County Historical Society. This Pioneer stew is slow cooked every year over an open fire over night by our Burgoomeister and served to the festivals attendees on the Sunday of the Festival. We use 100 gallon caldrons to make our delicious stew, and stir it with custom made boat oars. Festival attendees can enjoy the Burgoo stew as well as shop over 350 vendors in quaint downtown Utica, Illinois.
