Bacon-Wrapped Water Chestnuts

  • 1 pound sliced bacon
  • 4 8oz cans whole water chestnuts
  • cup soy sauce
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar


  • Cut bacon slices into halves or thirds, depending on width of chestnuts.
  • Wrap a strip of bacon around a water chestnut and insert a flat toothpick through both to secure.
  • Continue wrapping chestnuts with bacon until finished; arrange on a broiler pan.
  • Combine soy sauce and brown sugar in a small bowl.
  • Spoon a small amount of sauce over chestnuts, coating each.
  • Reserve remaining sauce.
  • Bake chestnuts at 350° until bacon is crisp.
  • Drizzle each chestnut with sauce until well coated.
  • Serve hot.
