Who are we?
Great American Publishers is a traditional small press specializing in regional, souvenir cookbooks.
What do we do?
We do cookbooks. They are our passion and our specialty. The state souvenir cookbook series — State Hometown Cookbook Series, Back Road Restaurant Recipes Series, Eat & Explore State Cookbooks Series, and State Church Suppers Series — are extremely popular with cooks, cookbook collectors and armchair travelers everywhere..
State Back Road Restaurant Recipes Series
Traveling the back roads is author Anita Musgrove’s passion. During those travels, she loves dropping into Mom and Pop restaurants — those great places that the only the locals usually know about. With her series, you can visit all the best locally owned restaurants in the state.
Eat & Explore State Cookbook Series
Travel the USA like you’ve never tasted it before with this series of cookbooks that also feature information about all the fun family travel destinations. Whether you are looking for delicious recipes for dishes to feed the family or the your next family road trip, these cookbooks are the best.
Do we publish more than souvenir cookbooks?
You bet! In addition to our souvenir cookbooks which are produced in-house, we publish cookbooks with national appeal for numerous authors. Our very first cookbook — Game for All Seasons by Harold Webster– is still available. Our best selling cookbook is Farm to Table Fabulous by Kimberly Storm Ritter. From outdoor cooking to cooking with kids, we have something to please everyone. See them all...
Do we only publish cookbooks?
Cookbooks are our core business; no doubt. However, we occasionally run across a product (or develop a product) that we just can’t resist. One example is our State Blank Notebook Series. We currently have Alabama, Georgia and Mississippi editions. Shop Now!
