Great American Publishers is a traditional small press. We publish books and cookbooks by various authors; we are not a vanity publisher nor do we produce print on demand books. Our publisher, Sheila Simmons, has more than 20 years experience in publishing and is supported by a staff with more than 20 years combined publishing experience.

It is our goal to produce high-quality, user-friendly cookbooks containing easy-to-follow, delicious recipes for the every day cook. This goal is realized with the Hometown Cookbook Series by Sheila Simmons and Kent Whitaker which features favorite recipes from hometown cooks all over the country — one state at a time. Perfect for cookbook collectors, armchair travelers and anyone who loves good recipes, the series includes Georgia Hometown Cookbook, Louisiana Hometown Cookbook, Mississippi Hometown Cookbook, Tennessee Hometown Cookbook, and Texas Hometown Cookbook, Alaska Hometown Cookbook and South Carolina Hometown Cookbook are coming soon.

For those who love to eat and love to travel, Christy Campbell presents the brand-new Eat & Explore State Cookbook Series. Eat & Explore Arkansas is the first book in the series and captures everything that makes the state special... from delicious recipes to all the state's favorite travel destinations. Eat & Explore Oklahoma will be available February 2012 with editions for Virginia & Washington following close behind.

The One Foot in the Kitchen Cookbook Series Quick Crockery Cooking, Quick Desserts, Quick Hors d’oeuvres, Quick Lunches & Brunches, Quick Mexican Cooking and Quick Soups ‘n Salads – will have you in and out of the kitchen fast with delicious meals your family will enjoy. Each book features 150 quick, easy recipes that use ingredients most people already have in their kitchen. “Foot” notes from the authors make preparing delicious, nutritious meals a snap.

This lively, rhyming story about Mo (a fun-loving golden retriever) will delight children of all ages as they help Mo search for his lost tennis balls. We are also proud to add Phil Hardwick to our publishing schedule. Phil is well-known in the Mississippi area for his Mississippi Mystery Series. His tenth book in the series, Letters from Lexington, will keep you guessing until the very end when five people receive a letter from Lexington...from a retired school teacher who was murdered weeks before the letterwas written. Mississippi's favorite private investigator, Jack Boulder, follows clues from the Windy City to the Magnolia State and all around historic Lexington in his quest to find the truth.
