Here are some easy tips to get you on your way to success!

Establish a Purpose – Make it easy for parents and other customers to say "Yes!" to your program by defining where the money will go. Is it to finance a student trip, new uniforms, a scholarship fund, or to help a sick child? Include the goal in your promotions and remind your student sellers to make their customers aware of this purpose. Stress the importance of every member’s participation. "Many hands make light work." Encourage not only the club member, but their families, friends and employees to help with sales.

Set a Goal Amount – Establish a goal based on your specific purpose. Keep participants aware of your progress throughout the campaign to maintain enthusiasm. Post updates on your Web site, in your newsletter, or place posters in the hall or lunchroom with the current amount raised. A bright red "thermometer" works well. Set individual goals based on your total goal divided by total participants.

Advertise and Promote – Successful campaigns require promotion. Hang flyers and posters and send them home with the kids, include information about the fundraiser in your school newsletter, contact newspapers and TV stations, and invite local businesses to purchase copies to give away or ask if they'll let you hang a flyer in their store.
