Submit Your Recipe to South Carolina's Hometown Cookbook
Kent Whitaker and Sheila Simmons are searching for South Carolina's favorite recipes to include in the latest edition to their State Hometown Cookbook Series. You can help preserve South Carolina's food heritage by submitting recipes to be included in South Carolina Hometown Cookbook.
The State Hometown Cookbook Series brings you a taste of America one state at at time and will eventually cover the United States with a book for each state. There are currently five books in the series: Georgia Hometown Cookbook, Louisiana Hometown Cookbook, Mississippi Hometown Cookbook, Tennessee Hometown Cookbook, and Texas Hometown Cookbook all published by Great American Publishers (Kosciusko, MS; www.greatamericanpublishers.com). In addition to highlighting each state's favorite recipes, the series features entertaining sidebars about fun food-related festivals throughout the state.
Whitaker and Simmons are asking South Carolina's hometown cooks to send recipes to be included in the book. They are looking for long-time, favorite recipes that you or your mother or your grandmother have made over and over again… the recipes that you take to family reunions or church socials… the dish that always generates requests for the recipe. If your recipe is chosen for the book, will receive a complimentary copy of South Carolina Hometown Cookbook. Credit will be given in the book below the recipe.
To submit your recipes, be sure to include the recipe title, complete list of ingredients, instructions, and the name and South Carolina city where you would like to have the recipe credited. Authors also welcome your personal comments and stories about the recipe. Send one to five recipes per person by mail or fax to: Great American Publishers • P. O.
